Through my own journey with coaching, I’ve come to realize that even with the support of friends, family, and therapy, there are still very few spaces where people are truly held, heard, and understood. Upward Executive Coaching sessions are intentionally different. We create a space where we don’t jump straight into problem-solving. Kurtis is a dynamic and experienced coach, driven by a deep passion for helping people grow, adapt, and navigate meaningful change. With 28 years of leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical research and development industry, he discovered that his most rewarding work wasn’t just in advancing science—it was in developing people and unlocking their potential.
In 2025, Kurtis made the bold decision to leave CSL and fully dedicate himself to his passion for coaching. He began his formal coaching journey with the prestigious Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), where he has completed all core courses and is now pursuing certification. His coaching approach is grounded in decades of hands-on leadership experience and a commitment to fostering resilience, balance, and growth in others.
Beyond coaching, Kurtis brings the same sense of curiosity and adventure to his personal life. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoys hiking, cycling, skiing and reading. With his family, Kurtis lived in Switzerland for 7 years, exploring the Swiss Alps by foot, bike, and skis. The experiences he had there, continue to inspire his perspective on leadership, perseverance, and the importance of embracing life’s challenges with courage and curiosity.
